The wedding invitation store I worked at during college used to print their own custom work. Whenever they printed something small, like the RSVP card, they would stick it onto an 8.5" x 11" paper with a Post-it note before running it through the printer. It was genius. Because I don't know about you, but trying to print on irregular size paper, with all the adjusting/readjusting of the printer settings, only to have inconsistent results, is suuuuuuuper frustrating.
So, I thought I'd revisit that amazing printer trick for a DIY project and it worked out beautifully.
First, I picked one of my favourite poems, Elizabeth Barrett Browning's famous Sonnet 43, "How do I love thee? Let me count the ways..". Then, I filled a full page in Word with the copy, put a piece of double-sided tape onto the back of a favour box, stuck it onto an 8.5" x 11" printer sheet, and ran it through the printer. I love that you can pick any copy you want, print it yourself, and the look is totally custom.
