Here's a twist on the traditional Valentine's colour combination - and by twist, really, a complete 180. I guess you could say it's the un-Valentine Valentine.
Those of you who have been reading my blog know that I love using stickers for my DIY's. Mostly because it doesn't get easier than peel and stick. Here, I created these black and white striped favor boxes by cutting strips from a label sheet (found at pretty much every office store) and placed them on black favor boxes.
- Removable full sheet labels (available at office supply stores)
- Black favor boxes
- Paper cutter
- Craft punch
- Double-sided tape or glue
- Washi tape
- Gold cardstock
Step 1: Measure the width of the top of the box, and jot down.
Step 2 - Trim off a bit off all sides of the label sheet so that no backing is showing.
Step 3 - Trim label sheet into strips, the same width as the washi tape. Then trim the strips into the same length as the box (measurement from Step 1)
Step 4 - Place a strip of the label down.
Step 5 - Place a piece of washi tape right above the label stripe.
Step 6 - Place another label stripe down.
Step 7 - Peel off the washi tape.
Step 8 - Punch out a heart from the cardstock.
Step 9 - Glue or tape the heart down.
